What We Found

Kids Corner Medical and Dental have long shared a building, a phone system, and a website — a practical arrangement for two practices that grew up together. As both sides invest in their own infrastructure and digital presence, it’s a natural moment for Medical to stand on its own foundations.

The network audit tells a clear story. Medical already has real infrastructure: a FortiWifi 40F firewall, its own Bell circuit, and physically isolated switches. The foundation is there. What’s missing is the management layer — monitoring, compliance documentation, and the independence that comes from controlling your own phone system and web presence.

  • Network — Medical has a FortiWifi 40F as its core firewall and a separate Bell circuit. The network is physically isolated from Dental, but both practices currently share the same IP subnet (192.168.143.x) — meaning the separation relies entirely on correct cable routing, with no logical enforcement if a patch cable lands in the wrong port.
  • Switches — Medical’s internal network runs through unmanaged TP-Link switches, with no visibility into traffic, no port-level control, and no ability to segment clinical devices from general use.
  • Phone system — Medical extensions currently run through Dental’s VoIP infrastructure. As Dental migrates its network, this is a natural point to provision Medical’s own phone system — independent and managed.
  • Devices — 7 computers and 2 phones across 4 exam rooms, a nursing station, reception, and admin. No centrally managed security policy and no documented device backup.
  • Web presence — Medical services are published as subpages on the dental domain. There’s no standalone web identity, no independent analytics, and no SEO equity that belongs to the medical practice.

The opportunity is straightforward: layer professional management and compliance documentation onto the existing FortiWifi infrastructure, close the subnet gap, sort out the phone system, and build a web presence that’s owned by the medical practice.

Service Offering 1

Infrastructure & Security

Managed hosting, security monitoring, and compliance for a medical practice.

You already have a real firewall — the FortiWifi 40F is a capable device. What a managed security service adds is the layer above the hardware: active monitoring, documented compliance controls, and a consistent response process when something does go wrong.

PHIPA requires more than having a firewall. It requires that you can demonstrate access controls, show a documented security posture, and respond to incidents in a defined way. Most small practices have the hardware but not the documentation or the ongoing management. That gap is where the exposure lives.

  • Active monitoring — intrusion detection and AI-driven threat analysis layered on your existing network. Incidents get caught early, not discovered after the fact.
  • Subnet segmentation — closing the shared /24 gap between Medical and Dental at the logical level, so network isolation doesn’t rely solely on correct cable routing.
  • PHIPA-aligned access controls — staff-specific device logins, documented security policy, and DNS management. The controls your insurers and regulators expect to see.
  • Device hygiene — patch management, endpoint protection, and backup across all 7 workstations. A single ransomware event shouldn’t mean days of lost access to patient records.
  • Compliance documentation — written security policy, quarterly security reports, and an incident response runbook. Ready when you need them.
  • VoIP independence — transition Medical phone extensions onto their own managed system as Dental’s network evolves. Available as an add-on to any tier.

Service Offering 2

SEO

Get found by patients searching for pediatric care in your area.

Kids Corner Medical’s web presence is currently part of the dental site — a shared domain, shared analytics, and no SEO equity that belongs to the medical practice independently. As both practices develop their own identities, Medical needs a web presence it owns: one that builds authority in search over time and gives parents a clear, direct path to book with Dr. Alex.

The traffic numbers reflect how dependent the current setup is on decisions made elsewhere. Building an independent presence means that web performance is driven by what the medical practice does, not by what adjacent practices choose to spend.

  • Google Business Profile — a verified, optimized GBP for Kids Corner Medical, separate from Dental. This is the most direct lever for map pack visibility and “pediatrician near me” searches.
  • Dr. Alex’s profile — structured physician schema and a well-maintained GBP listing make Dr. Alex’s profile discoverable in both traditional search and AI-generated answers.
  • Standalone website — a clean, fast, SEO-optimized site on its own domain. Structured data (LocalBusiness, Physician schema), proper on-page SEO, and a contact form that converts. If a rebuild is needed, we can design and build it in partnership with The Liminals.
  • Keyword targeting — monthly tracking of the terms parents use when searching for pediatric care locally, with content and pages built to rank for them.
  • Content that compounds — one to two pieces per month: seasonal health topics, common conditions, care guides. Each article continues to drive traffic long after it’s published.
  • Review acquisition — a systematic, low-friction process to grow your Google review count. Reviews directly influence both local ranking and the decision a parent makes when choosing a pediatrician.
  • Reporting you can act on — monthly performance report in plain language: where traffic came from, what converted, and what’s changing.
